The car was purchased in bits in 1990 & the restoration completed in 1992. The car was originally Colorado Orange & was an English export model from April 1971.
I replaced and refurbished all the parts I could during that time.
The Lotus Elan chassis has been strengthened & the original wheels replaced for the 4.5" alloys on 175 x 70 x 13.
Other modifications include lowering & uprated front & rear springs. Koni shocks, LSD diff, 4.5diff.
The engine has been ported & polished with 1.65" inlets & milder cams with flow through exhaust. Sump is fully baffled, Luminition ignition, a five speed gear box, remote oil filler & my favourite the Holbay cam cover.

The top half of the roll cage is removable as well.
The Lotus Marques CV joints are the most recent addition. Thanks Steve they work a treat!!
Other modification include LED lighting which means the everything works fine on a cold winter night in the rain with everything running. I would recommend LEDS to all as they draw very little power.

Caution is you cannot use a LED to replace the red ignition light as the circuit requires a min 3 Watt bulb resistance or it will not go out & nor will the Alternator charge.
Trap for young players that helped Telstra make budget as I was on the phone for many hours with Steve trying to solve the ignition light puzzle.
The car has been very reliable covering some 45K during that time with a few days racing at the Eastern Creek Historics meetings.
Thanks to Steve for all of the advice & a supply of goodies to keep it running.
Cheers, Dean Ryan.
