QUESTION
Isn't there a way to change wiper park orientation?
My wiper motor is on the right with parking on the right. I need the wipers to park on the left.
Isn't there something in wiper assembly I can do to change self park orientation?

ANSWER
This is a really good question
In a simplistic form, this is all about the angular location of the crank pin relative to the motor parking switch position
If you wish to change the parking position of the wiper blade arms from one side of the vehicle to the other side, then the crank pin needs to be moved 180 degrees
This involves dismantling the wiper motor gear box and removing the large diameter driven gear to which the crank pin is fastened
The crank pin needs to be removed and installed in a new hole drilled 180 degrees located from its original position
It would be wise to clean out the gearbox containing ancient grease and repack it with fresh grease before reassembling
One last thing to do is change the slight crank angle of the wiper arm where it joins the pivot point at the wiper blade
The original wiper arms were made from stainless steel and have small crank angle of 5 degrees or so
From experience the arm can be gently bent in a vice fitted with soft-jaws so the short cranked section faces in the opposite direction
Reforming the wiper arm in this manner allows the blade to park parallel to the bottom of the windscreen
