Lotus Marques offers a comprehensive water pump rebuild service for all 907, 910 and 912 water pumps.
This involves cleaning and dismantling the pump to determine if it is viable to overhaul and return it to regular service life.
From experience gained in our workshop, the majority of Lotus water pumps can be refurbished and provide many years of use without failing prematurely.
However, some pumps have a significant amount of corrosion and may require welding and/or machining to return them to a useful state.
The original Lotus water pumps were assembled using the minimum amount of components with no thought about routine rebuilds.
With this in mind, Lotus Marques automatically upgrades every pump to include a ceramic seal configuration.
The addition of a simple ceramic thrust washer significantly extends the service life of the pump ten-fold, so why would you put back the original style seal.
The ceramic seal extends the service life by providing a glass-like surface for the mechanical seal to run on instead of the cast iron thrust face of the impellor.
If the standard pump is removed from service for any reason and the coolant drained from the pump, then the cast iron thrust face will rust.
The rusty thrust face gradually becomes highly abrasive and when the pump is returned to service, will quickly destroy the seal contact face.
Once the seal contact face is ground away by the rusty thrust impellor, the pump will leak via the weep hole.
Rebuilding these pumps is a regular routine at our workshop and for peace of mind we pressure test all pumps to 50psi before returning the unit to the customer.
Lotus Marques carries a significant amount of components that allow us to provide a prompt turn round service.
Refurbished pumps are supplied with a two year warranty.
