The components illustrated below are the aluminium air grilles to suit the Lotus Elan +2.
These grilles are handed and are located in front of the windscreen and in the rear body section, just behind door window frame aperture.
The following Lotus part numbers indicate the component orientation.
Lotus part number X050P0014Z – Air grille, right hand (upper component in photograph)
Lotus part number X050P0013Z – Air grille, left hand (lower component in photograph)

The original air grilles were manufactured using a traditional sand casting method that produces a poor quality component that lacks detail and uniform finish.
The new grilles do not suffer from the usual problems of shrinkage, distortion and excess flashing (unwanted material) often seen in the bottom of the slots.
The above grilles have been carefully CNC machined from a solid aluminium billet to ensure the highest possible quality component.
Careful measurement and CAM programming ensures the newly machined part is a direct replacement for the original component.
During the programming process, much emphasis was placed on correcting many of the common defects that can be seen on the cast grilles.
This has resulted in new grilles that have the following cosmetic characteristics-
a) constant external wall thickness and uniform radii at all four corners
b) straight louvres that have uniform spacing
c) louvres that have precise termination detail (instead of unwanted casting debris)
d) all upper edges have been subtly chamfered to ensure a perfect finish
e) hand crafted top surface to provide a brushed satin finish
These stunning grilles are sure to complement any restoration or enhance any Lotus Elan +2 where the original components have suffered from corrosion.
These components have been carefully manufactured in Australia using an Okuma machining centre.
