Has your Elan S1, S2, S3 Elan +2 or Europa combined wash-wipe switch and pump finally died?
Unfortunately the original Ford unit is extremely difficult to repair.
The chance of finding a good second hand unit is just about impossible as this component is no longer manufactured.

The replacement switch and special T-nut on left-hand side of the above photograph provide the same functionality as the original Ford component.
This means there is a three position twist action for wiper motor speed control and push action to operate the electric washer pump.
The addition of a remote electric pump to operate the washer jets completes the conversion.
The switch is easily installed in the dashboard and the knob from the old switch/pump unit can be utilised to retain the original dashboard layout.
The original knob should be carefully drilled and tapped in the side to accommodate a small grub screw so it can be fastened to the switch shaft.
Installation for connecting the wiring to the switch and pump is as follows:-
When viewing the back of the switch and you will discover the terminals are labelled in the following manner.
Note positive battery feed should be connected to B terminal (twin green wire)
Position 1 = Off (knob rotated fully anti-clockwise)
Position 2 = slow wiper speed (connection between B and L terminals)
Connect slow speed feed wire to L terminal (brown and green)
Position 3 = fast wiper speed (connection between B and H terminals)
Connect slow speed feed wire to H terminal (red and green)
The washer pump is operated only when the knob is pressed in
It is also assumed that one side on the washer pump is connected to earth
Wash position = knob pressed in (connection between B and W terminal)
Connect positive side of wash pump to W terminal
P (park) terminal should have blue and green wire connected to it
