For Sale - 1960 Lotus Elite S2 #1449.
Originally chassis no 1082 invoiced 21 Oct 1959 (UK registration 713 HJH) and used as a publicity car by Lotus.
It was written off in early 1960. Re-bodied as a S2 Bristol body chassis no 1449 and invoiced 6 Oct 1960.
The original British green book is included and has Fred Bushell’s signature.
The Elite is in superb condition inside and out.
Mechanically restored with double SU and close ratio MG gearbox.
Full restoration completed 2010 with limited mileage since.
Currently owned by Wybe Geertsma, with all owners known since new.
Extensive correspondence with the late Robin Read around its early history (see page 61 of Robin’s book).
