The original black plastic parts were injection moulded and prematurely age when subjected to UV light.
The original handles have an inherent design problem where the original material is of poor quality and prone to cracking before completely failing.
The door handle (Lotus part number 036B6256) has been carefully drawn in SOLIDWORKS® CAD software to ensure a dimensionally correct part.
The distinctive diamond pattern is well defined ensuring a faithful reproduction of the original component.
To solve the fragile design problem, the peripheral webs on the back have been increased from 3mm to 6mm.
This simple modification imparts additional strength to the handle and prevents failure when being operated over many years.
The privacy lock handle has been carefully drawn in SOLIDWORKS® CAD software so it can be faithfully reproduced.
Manufacturing these handles has been made possible by producing them on a Bambu Labs 3D printer.
These components are a cost effective replacement that preserve the originality of the internal door appearance and functionality.
A vehicle set of interior door handles, sufficient for two doors cost AUS $70.00 excluding GST and pricing is correct as of 3/6/2026.
