QUESTION
I am currently working on my 1987 Lotus Turbo Esprit and in the process of re-assembling the front suspension.
Can you tell me which way up does the front sway bar go in?
J.G. - Wyalkatchem, Western Australia
ANSWER
For clarity purposes it should be noted that the photographs below have been taken with the suspension at the normal ride height.
From the forward chassis rubber pivot points, the ARB runs backward (and slightly upwards) then passes through the lower control arm and exits the rubber bush.
Looking at the exposed end of the ARB as it exits the rubber bush, it then points slightly downwards.
