QUESTION
Can you please tell me where the clevis pin goes in my Lotus Elan +2?

Somewhere in the pedal box I think.
N.S. - Moffat Beach, Queensland
ANSWER
The 2" long rod in the photograph above is not the standard component that could be installed and retained correctly.
The original clevis pin is 5/16" in diameter, has a large button head at one end and a split pin hole at the other.
The most effective way to access either the brake or clutch master cylinders is to remove the pedal box.
This provides an uninterrupted view and access the push rods and clevis pins plus the retaining split pins.
Trying to remove or install clevis and split pins in the brake or clutch master cylinder from inside the foot-well is an extremely difficult task.
If you are installing new master cylinders and clevis pins, then it is wise to fit an R-clip in the clevis pin to simplify subsequent install and removal.
Form experience the clevis pin wants to constantly rotate whilst attempting to install or remove the standard split pin.
This irritating and time consuming problem is overcome with the use of R-clips - simple push/pull action to install or remove with long nose pliers.
If originality is not an issue then the pedal box can be modified to have a removeable panel that provides easy access to the push-rods and clevis pins.
