QUESTION
I have read the instructions on the Lotus Marques website for fitting ARP bolts in my Lotus 125E conrods.
ARP recommend that the big ends of the conrods be reamed to ensure roundness if using their bolts.
I don't want to go down that path so I'm wondering what to do.

ANSWER
From experience, installing ARP bolts in 125E conrods is unlikely to be a problem and reaming will not be necessary.
The cap and rod have been dowelled prior to machining to ensure precise alignment of the bolt holes.
If you are concerned about the new bolts binding, then the ARP bolts can be dummy installed by hand.
As the bolts are gently wound in with your fingers, this will allow you to detect any potential binding.
Binding of the new con-rod bolts is very unlikely as the shank is wasted to provide additional clearance.
