QUESTION
It appears the sump seal on my 1987 Lotus Esprit has been breached and I can see engine oil weeping through.
I see from the manual that there is no gasket but instead a compound paste which is used.
Do you have a recommendation for this paste?

ANSWER
Before removing the sump it would be advisable to pressure clean the entire engine to determine exactly where the oil is coming from.
If oil is leaking from the sump joint then it will be necessary to remove it and thouroughly clean both mating surfaces.
For best results use Loctite Primer ® 7471™ followed by Loctite 510.
