QUESTION
I have a S4 1989 Peter Stevens Esprit and the LH front light pod will raise , knock up and down a few times , retract and then stay at half mast.
I have checked the motors and seem to rotate well out of the car.
So I am assuming that the control module is at fault.
Can you advise if you concur and can I send it to you for repair or do you have a substitute or new part I can purchase.
Any help would be appreciated.

ANSWER
From experience this appears to be a headlamp motor gearbox problem (and not a faulty control module).
Can you please pull out the faulty motor and remove the cover plate to examine the gearbox internals.
These motors have an inherent design problem where the three internal rollers disintegrate.
Lotus Marques stocks a head-lamp motor overhaul kit that comprises of three rollers, two motor/gearbox gaskets, plus silicon grease.
