QUESTION
Do you have an image/diagram of '88 Esprit Turbo front calipers?
I performed a caliper rebuild, since I was installing the braided lines I purchased from you.
I did label them left and right, but I am concerned I may have managed to get the sides mixed up.
I have them fitted so the pipe entry point into the caliper is at the bottom.
This strains the brake hose on full lock.
It appears it would work better if I swapped the calipers over so the pipe enters from the the top
L.P. - NSW
ANSWER
The solid brake line (and flex hose connected to it) should enter at the top of the caliper
The easy way to remember which way up to install any brake caliper, is with the bleed nipple upwards
If the caliper is inverted then its impossible to bleed all the trapped air out of the brake system
Trapped air will always tend to rise to the highest point
Final safety checks - please make sure the flexible hoses to not get caught up when the suspension moves from full-droop to full-bump
Also check the flexible hoses do not get caught up when the steering rack operates from full right lock to full left lock
