QUESTION
I just went to fit my new front brake pads EBC Green Stuff DP2291 and discovered the following.
My front brake caliper is a Girling 16P type with a pin diameter of 0.245" and 2.500" center to center spacing
The pads have oval holes approximately 3/16" X 1/4" @ 2.500" center to center spacing.
Is it okay to drill these out to suit my pin size ?
If so what size to drill out to to allow for working clearance ?
L.H. - New Zealand
ANSWER
It is recommended that the pin holes be drilled to 0.250" diameter.
This should provide sufficient clearance on the caliper holes and backing plate holes for the pads to float freely.
