The following information has been compiled whilst replacing the entire solid brake pipe system on a 1986 Turbo Esprit.
This vehicle is right hand drive and European specification with twin Dellorto carburettors fitted to it.
NOTE CAREFULLY - The brake master cylinder/booster unit is installed on the right hand of the vehicle, so brake pipe dimension for left hand drive Esprit's will be different.
The following solid brake pipe dimensions are cut-lengths - this means the length that is required prior to flaring the ends of each pipe.
Be sure to install the correct fittings and check orientation prior to flaring the ends.
Right hand front solid pipe = 1200mm
Fittings = male 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread + female 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread
Left hand front solid pipe = 1400mm
Fittings = male 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread + female 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread
Master to rear joiner = 550mm
Fittings = male 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread + male 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread
Main pipe, front to rear = 3200mm
Fittings = male 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread + male 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread
Right hand rear solid pipe, flexible to T-joiner = 300mm
Fittings = male 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread + female 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread
Left hand rear solid pipe up to T-joiner = 850mm
Fittings = male 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread + female 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread
Rear brake calipers (both pipes the same) = 300mm
Fittings = female 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread + male 10mm x 1.25mm pitch thread
Front brake calipers (both pipes the same) = 300mm
Fittings = male 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread + female 10mm x 1.0mm pitch thread
