Here is the latest version of the Lotus twin cam clutch slave cylinder that is fully CNC machined from aluminium alloy billet.
This high quality slave cylinder provides easy installation and adequate clearance between the body and bell-housing closing plate.
The self-locating design feature prevents the cylinder from rotating when the hydraulic pipe is installed and/or the bleed nipple is opened or closed.
This alloy billet slave cylinder completely eliminates the possibility of hydraulic fluid leaks caused by porosity problems associated with cast alloy components.
A stainless steel piston complements the cylinder and ensures it will never seize even when subjected to hydraulic fluid that has moisture contamination.
There is a second cir-clip groove so in the unlikely event the first groove suffers mechanical failure, the cylinder remains in place and the clutch continues to operate.
Moving to a CNC machining environment guarantees dimensional accuracy and consistently high quality components.
This is very important where this same component is expected to be installed in the Lotus Elan, Elan +2, Lotus Cortina and the Ford twin cam Escort.

Assembly tip
The rubber seal should be pressed onto the piston locating peg with the flared skirt pointing away from the piston body
When assembling the cylinder, it is advisable to lubricate the bore with rubber grease to allow the hydraulic seal and piston to enter easily.
